Finding a Way to Stay Relevant

“The reacHIRE program enabled me to bridge that “gap” by providing a structured training program on relevant skillsets in demand in today’s job market and matching program participants with potential employers.”

Like many other women, I took a break from my career to start a family. While I had always been very career driven, I thought taking the time off to care for my child would be a beneficial change for my family. While motherhood was wonderful, I did miss the intellectual stimulation of working and an office environment. I longed to re-identify with my professional self, so I decided to get back to work.

Despite my best efforts, my job search proved difficult. My seemingly short career gap almost seemed like a non-starter for most recruiters. The reacHIRE program enabled me to bridge that “gap” by providing a structured training program on relevant skillsets in demand in today’s job market and matching program participants with potential employers.

My hopes were realized when after I completed the reacHIRE training program; Addie and the team at reacHIRE helped me secure a back to work assignment that has parlayed into a number of interesting projects at my current employer.

Looking back with my newfound skills and knowledge, I would have to prioritize networking and looking for ways to stay relevant to employers as essentials for helping me get back to work. Staying relevant can be helped by pursuing a re-education type course, like reacHIRE. It signals to employers that you are serious about re-entering the job market and that you have taken steps to invest in yourself.

I owe my second life to reacHIRE. I truly wouldn’t have been able to make it this far without Addie and the rest of the team. I am forever grateful for this second chance at a career; this program was life changing!
